I want to go back to school and get my Masters in Sports Management. Is this a good field?
I already have a B.S in Business Administration and that has gotten me NO WHERE!!!! Is Sports Management worth the investment?
At the very least, you might start taking a few courses toward that degree. Even if you don’t finish it, you will be demonstrating to employers in the field that you are focusing your efforts on this more narrowly defined business.
You should also find at least a part time job in the type of place where you’d like to work, even if you have to take a position that pays a lot less than you’d expect with your business degree. This way, you’ll be gaining “on the floor” experience in the sports management field or something related to that.
The only substitute for experience in a particular field is education in that same area of specialization. Maybe you can pursue your career goals on both fronts.
