Closures for Thursday August 21, 2003 This is to inform
you of an upcoming partial closure this week on Thursday, although the
motion states two hours, the promo for the DVD release is a half
hour parade on the west side of Hollywood Blvd, Hollywood and Highland
was notified weeks ago. Thanks MOTION Merv
Griffin Productions will be hosting the DVD release of the 25th
anniversary of Universal Studios “Animal House” at 6801 Hollywood
Blvd on August 21, 2003. The
Office of Council District 13 has received a request that the City
temporarily close a portion of the sidewalk and street in front of 6801
Hollywood Blvd and
provide certain services and
declare the function a Special Event. [Event coordinator: Bradon Powell

THEREFORE MOVE that the DVD release of “Animal House” be declared a
Special Event; and, that all City departments be requested to provide
the necessary assistance with the understanding that all costs incurred
by the City associated with the event will be paid by the event sponsor. I FURTHER MOVE that pursuant to Ordinance No.150567 relating to
temporary street closures, and subject
to the supervision of the Director of the Bureau of Street Services: the
following streets be closed: 1) Hollywood Blvd from Highland to Orange
from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.. subject to the supervision of the Director
of the Bureau of Street Services. I
FURTHER MOVE that, if needed, the Bureau of Street Services be directed
to furnish the necessary traffic control devices. These devices will be
provided with the understanding that the sponsoring organization will
pick up and return them to the Bureau. I
FURTHER MOVE that, if needed, the Department of Transportation, be
directed to post Temporary No Stopping" signs and provide traffic
control personnel as required. I
FURTHER MOVE that should unforeseen circumstances change the actual date
of the Special Event, the aforementioned departmental instructions
