Hollywood-Gower
Neighborhood Association Meeting
Notes – Wednesday, November 19, 2003
Missy called the Neighborhood meeting to order at 7:05 p.m. Over
a dozen regular attendees and two new “faces” joined our monthly
meeting. They were cordially welcomed to our meeting and allowed to
introduce themselves. One friend was from Carlton Way and a gentleman that just purchased Ruth’s property attended our meeting, both for the first time. Keep coming and bring more people from your complex and neighbors to our meetings Missy distributed flyer of suspect wanted and went through the agenda items with Michael Geier providing us an update on the several items of interest:
-8 gracious helpers from our wonderful Neighborhood participated in the clean up of Carlton Way during the morning and Bill Reichenbach splurged a generous offering of a delicious lunch of pizza and refreshment at Q-TOPIA for those that were present. Fran was able to scan a beautiful photograph of our helpers and downloaded into an e-mail attachment for us. THANK YOU FRAN!! A BIG THANK YOU TO THE WONDERFUL, WONDERFUL “8” TEAM!!!! Carlton Way tenants, landlords, families and guests really appreciate your time, and genuine commitment to making Hollywood a pleasant and beautiful neighborhood !!! Thanks for setting an excellent example!! 2. Michael noted a presence of more than the usual number of homeless persons/transients in the Hollywood area were present just in the past two weeks. -landlords and or tenants need to tell them politely to leave, if seen wandering or digging into the residential trash bins as one option. -Call 1 877 ASK LAPD, press 1, 3 and 6 on the dial pad to get a live voice -be persistent if the police have not arrived
-If you need trees trimmed so you
could see the area better, call 3-1-1 It
was announced that the Captain Bratton was going to hold a neighborhood
meeting at the Hollywood Pres. Church on Thursday, November 20 at 7:30
p.m. If you have any issues
with the LAPD not responding on a timely basis or some real problems with
vandals, theft, crime on or near your property, here is a good chance to
speak to him one on one and get some results oriented answers. One
regular attendee suggested that the buildings in Hollywood might be
painted green or at least other colors that would make the neighborhood
look artsy. There
were no new agenda items brought forth. Meeting ended approximately 8:11 p.m. |
