Dear Hollywood-Gower Neighbors, The meeting last Wednesday night
with the Mayor’s representative, Michael Cathey was a very powerful one.
It was clear that he was listening. But we’re not stopping here. There
is much to do from several avenues to 1) Stop this project in its tracks,
2) Locate a site that, if certain aspects of the project are amended, this
project would be better suited (love the Tropicana idea, Walter!), 3)
Address the city regarding the current impacts of the social services to
ask for accountability (this may include paying a visit to the local area
planning commission when each one of their conditional use permits is up
for renewal. Enough is enough! Let’s meet again in a few weeks.
This issue won’t go away without action taken from the local neighbors
and businesses. So, if the Mayor’s office has done nothing by the time
we meet again, our strategy and action plan will kick up a notch! Stay tuned for the meeting
announcement and updates as they come in. Here is a list of social
services within a mile of the proposed Permanent Adult Supportive
