FHHCC Receives Award for Adopt-a-Highway Efforts (see info below) |
|
|
| Action Team Members and Argyle Civic volunteers worked tirelessly to clear debris from CalTrans property along the 101 Freeway between Cahuenga & Bronson. This Adopt-A-Highway program got started at the beginning of 2004 and continues to this day. Countless homeless encampments have been cleared and the brush in the area opened up so that it is very difficult, if not impossible for these encampments to return. But they do and team leaders George Abrahams and Laura Dodson are right there to clear and clean. This work has made an impact on local crime in the area and lifted the quality of life for the nearby residents. We say a heartfelt "Thank you." to all who help with this effort. If you would like to become trained as a volunteer to help in this stretch of our community, write to George at ggg@copper.net. |
